Kielce, 12 November 1948, 11.10 a. m. Zygmunt Winter from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Kielce, with the participation of court reporter Edward Pękalski, interviewed the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:
Name and surname | Sabina Zając |
Parents’ names | Władysław and Franciszka |
Age | 45 years old |
Place of birth | Kielce |
Religious affiliation | Roman Catholic |
Occupation | housewife |
Place of residence | Kielce, Karczówkowska Street 48 |
In May 1944 I saw how ten Poles were killed by the German Gestapo men. They were lying in the field by Karczówka hill, but I don’t know their surnames.
Some time later five killed men were again brought to Karczówka – they were brought on a flatbed by four "blue" [Polish] policemen. Only when the Red Army entered, were the bodies uncovered and moved to the cemetery. Then I learned that Krawiec and Skalski were among the killed, but I don’t know where they were from.
I have nothing more to add.
