26 November 1949. Władysław Słowiński, a functionary of the Citizens’ Militia Station in Słupia Nowa, Kielce district, interviewed the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:

It took pla | ce on 29 July 1942 at about 1.00 p.m. A lot of Germans arrived, occupying |
the whole village. Having surrounded the village, they took all the men under 51 years of age, about 60 men in number, and herded them into one rallying point. From among these 60 men they picked 12 and took them aside. Having first given orders to dig pits, the Germans killed the 12 men with shots to the head. The rest were taken away and thrown into prison. One of those who were being escorted to prison was killed on the way because he begged the Germans to spare his life. The massacre was carried out in revenge for the death of one German soldier.
The bodies of the victims were transferred by the partisans to the local cemetery as late as May 1944.
