With regard to the matter at hand I can provide the following information: In 1942, I don’t remember the exact date, around 7. 30 a.m. I noticed the Gestapo unit marching along the road from the side of Góra Baranowska in the direction of Rejów. The unit stopped at the crossroads in Rejów. Its commander ordered his people to spread around the village of Rejów and search all the houses. During the search Gestapo men asked the people to reveal where they had hidden that man – whom the Germans referred to as a bandit with no hat on. At that time I wasn’t aware of what the search was about. After the Germans left I learned that the Gestapo was executing people in Góra Baranowska and in all probability one of those whom the Germans were about to shoot ran away from their bullets towards the pond in Rejów.

I wish to note that I have heard that those who were executed were from the area of Starachowice and Iłża (Grzybowa Góra). The Gestapo men came from the direction of Starachowice and Iłża and left, about 12.00 p.m., in the same direction.

I wish to add the the bodies of 29 people still remain on the same site in Góra Baranowska, at a distance of about 200 meters from the road.

At this the report was read out and signed.
