Having been advised of the right to refuse to testify for the reasons set forward in Article 104 of the CCP and of the criminal liability for making false declarations, pursuant to Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Wacława Materek
Parents’ names Władysław and Jadwiga, née Kotyla
Date and place of birth 2 May 1924 in Michniów
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Occupation teacher
Place of residence Kielce, Targowa Street 23

With regard to the matter at hand I can provide the following information: On 12 July 1943, during the execution carried out in Michniów, I and other women were guarded by the Schutzpolizei officer. On the same day, at about 3.00 p.m., I and the other women were transferred to Arbeitsamt in Kielce. From this Arbeitsamt I was taken by officer Gustaw Biel. He was the man who guarded us during the execution, sitting on a tree trunk with a submachine gun. This officer told me that he was in the courtyard of my house and saw that my mother had been killed. He took my dresses, a violin and bed throws from my house, all of which he gave me back later. I wish to note that in 1944 Gustaw Biel was transfered from Kielce to Częstochowa. On his way to Częstochowa, between Szczekociny and Kielce, he was wounded in the hand. In Kielce Gustaw Biel lived at Żytnia Street 18 and in Częstochowa at Śląska Street 24 and at Kopernika Street, I don’t remember exactly. The house belonged to Mr. Chwalba. In Germany he lived at Breslaustrasse 20 and later in Milhausen at Grebenstrasse, I don’t remember the number.

At this the report was concluded, read out and signed.
