On 16 November 1948 the Magistrates’ Court in Zwoleń, with Judge Żuwicki presiding and with the participation of a reporter, Gwarek, interviewed the person mentioned hereunder as a witness. Having advised the witness of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the significance of the oath, the Judge took an oath therefrom, following which the witness testified as follows:

Other people from the village of Zamość told me that on 10 July 1942 German gendarmes from Zwoleń shot dead Józef and Bronisław Śmietanka near the hamlet of Babin. Since on that day I was working on a road at another location, I did not see anything myself.
