On 4 June 1947, Chaim Malz appeared in the office of the police of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in Stuttgart, Western section, camp no. 664, Reinsburgstrasse, and made the following declaration in lieu of an oath:

On the order of SS- und Polizeiführer [SS and police leader] of the Radom district – Böttcher, the Jewish Community Council in Radom compiled a list of the members of the intelligentsia. The official reason was that the people on the list were supposed to be allowed to emigrate to Palestine. On one Sunday, trucks arrived through the gate of the ghetto and Unterstrumführer Kapke appeared with said list. Having been allowed to take their belongings, the people from the list were loaded onto the trucks. Naturally, they were joined by their entire families. The trucks departed in the direction of Szydłowiec. Then trucks with Ukrainians drove up and joined the trucks loaded with Jews. In Szydłowiec, the Jews were ordered to dig pits. Then they had to get into the pits, where they were shot. 130 people were killed that day. The poor souls were beaten before the execution. One Fried was beaten in an inhumane manner.
Kapke himself shot at them. Out of those transported to Szydłowiec, 13 people were released so that they would tell others about what had happened in Szydłowiec. Among the survivors were Bella Frydman, Dr. Witenska with her two children, and Sonia Złotnik.
