JULIA RUTA

On 4 December 1947, in Radom, T. Skulimowski, member of the Prosecution Commission for the District Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes in Radom, heard the person named below as a witness without an oath. After being informed about the criminal liability for giving false testimony and about the content of Art. 107 of the Criminal Code, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Julia Ruta
Age 67
Parents’ names Franciszek and Marianna
Place of residence Daleka Street 3, Gołębiów-Wójtostwo
Occupation worker
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Criminal record none
Relationship to the parties none

I was not myself an eyewitness to the shooting by the Germans of 30 Poles in the spring of 1944 in the military square, located near Gołębiów-Wójtostwo, because at that time I wasn’t at home. On the following day, when I returned home, I learned from my children that the Germans had shot about 30 Poles the previous day. My daughter, Kazimiera Łukomska, who lives with me, saw the execution. The execution took place about 100 steps from my house.

I know that two sons of Piotrowski, who lives in Radom, were shot at that time—I don’t know his address, I only know that during the occupation he was in the blue police.

I was at the scene of the execution and saw traces of blood and parts of corpses, like teeth, hair and pieces of skin.

Janina Kwaśniewska does not live in Radom, but in Warsaw, and I don’t know the exact address.

The report was read out.
