On 14 March 1947 in Dzierżoniów, the Municipal Court in Dzierżoniów, Second Branch, with Judge Br. Slosarek presiding and with the participation of court reporter A. Gronkiewicz, heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness testified as follows:

was the commandant. The witness met her often and hence knew that she acted very brutally towards the prisoners, beating them, especially on the face, for no reason apart from the fact that she didn’t like someone or she did something that she didn’t like. If she didn’t like it, she would send her to block 25, from where she would go to the death chambers. She didn’t harass the witness in particular, because she tried to satisfy her requirements by all means. Very often, if during the march out to work someone would fall over, she took these prisoners to one side and led them to a separate square and told them to do frog jumps, and this activity was to be supervised by another overseer to see to it that the other prisoners given this punishment would do the punishment. In this way, she used to torment the girls for an hour.
Regarding the accused Mandl, the witness didn’t come into contact with her, so she does not know from her own experience how she dealt with the prisoners, but she heard from others that overseer Mandl was also violent towards the prisoners.
