The deported was incarcerated in the Auschwitz camp at the time when Drechsel was the camp commandant. This commandant treated the prisoners very brutally for no reason whatsoever; when she didn’t like something, she would beat the prisoners and send them to block 25, from where they were sent to the crematoria. She didn’t particularly harass the deported since the deported did everything to avoid being punished; however, when she punished the entire block and ordered the prisoners to do some exhausting exercises, the deported also had to do them. The deported didn’t come into direct contact with the defendant Mandl, but she heard from other prisoners that she was also very brutal in her treatment of the imprisoned women.
