I was in the Auschwitz camp for about three years, that is in the years 1942–1944. I witnessed various cases of bestiality on the part of the Auschwitz camp personnel. From the attached list, I recognize only the name of Hans Aumeier. He was a short man, with the rank of officer, deputy of Commandant Höß. He would always carry a whip and beat every prisoner he encountered. He frequented the whole central camp, where he spread terror among all prisoners.

In July 1942 – I do not remember which day – standing in a group of 20 prisoners by the main gate and waiting for our kommando to return to the camp, I saw some SS men escorting three prisoners sentenced to death by hanging. Aumeier, nicknamed “Łokietek” [Elbow-high] by the prisoners was walking at the head of the escort headed to the place of execution.

One of the convicts took his hat off and asked Aumeier a question. Aumeier turned around and hit the convict on the head with the whip, and continued escorting them to the gallows, where the three prisoners were soon hanged.

I do not remember other names from the list. It is possible that I know those people only by sight and their brutality.

I hereby provide the names and addresses of people who stayed a longer period of time in Auschwitz and should know some of the defendants:
1. Kazimierz Gągała, works in Zjednoczenie Energetyczne (Energy Union) in Jelenia Góra, 2. Eugeniusz Niedojadło, also works in the above-mentioned place,
3. Kazimierz Karasiński (tobacco shop at 1 Maja Street, next to the Marysieńka Cinema), 4. Henryk Haber, resident in Cieplice (Hotel Europejski),
5. Czesław Gągała, Cieplice, the Bajka Restaurant,
6. Jan Fetter, Jelenia Góra, Wynalazców Street 1a.

At this point, the report was concluded, read out, and signed.
