I stayed in the Auschwitz camp from 15 December 1940 to 9 March 1943. From the time of my stay in the camp, from the list of the Auschwitz armed crew read out to me, I can say something about the following criminals:

1) Hans Aumeier – he was the Lagerführer [head of the camp] in my time. He was a sadist and abused the prisoners without mercy. I saw him punch and kick the prisoners without any reason.

2) Rudolf Buchholz – I don’t know him, at first I thought I knew him, but after rereading personal data I came to the conclusion that the Buchholz, whom I know, is not the Buchholz that is no. 12 on the list of the Auschwitz armed crew.

3) Maria Mandl – I didn’t know her personally, but I know that she was the Oberaufseherin in Birkenau. I heard that she used to beat and abuse the women for no reason.

4) Johann Paul Kremer – the head doctor at the camp. He carried out the selections of prisoners for gassing and took part in the gassing.

5) Max Grabner – SS officer, head of the Political Department. He was the camp judge and all the executions were carried out on his orders. I didn’t see or hear of him beating anyone. He was only harmful because of his position.

I can’t say anything about the rest of the war criminals on the list, because I don’t recall their names. If I saw their photographs, maybe I could say something more. Also, I can’t recall the names of prisoners who were abused at this time.

This is my testimony which I read and signed.
