On 4 August 1947 in Oświęcim, the Municipal Court in Oświęcim, with Judge Jan Janowski presiding and with the participation of a reporter, L. Gorczypaszek, interviewed the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the provisions of Article 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness testified as follows

I knew all the defendants in person. As regards the defendant Bajerek, I can only say that he stood in the camp gate and checked the civilians who came from the outside to work in the camp. He wasn’t ill-famed. I only heard that he was very corruptible, and that when someone bribed him, he would allow that person to carry everything he or she wished through the gate.
As regards the defendant Luise Danz, I can state that the defendant was an SS woman and that she was very good, because she helped the prisoners and was punished for doing so three times with a 14-day long incarceration in the bunker. I know that this defendant used to turn a blind eye to all transgressions on the part of the prisoners. That SS woman worked for some time in the kitchen and later in the clothes sorting room.
As regards the defendant Erna Bodem, her treatment of prisoners was below par – she was inhumane. I once witnessed how some woman handed her father a piece of bread, and the defendant beat her for it until the prisoner bled. This prisoner was Jadwiga Baranowska from Grudziądz. There were more incidents of this kind. I met all of the defendants in Majdanek.
