The Special Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes
On 11 August 1944, that is during the Uprising, 120 men were taken from the corner of Opoczyńska and Rakowiecka streets. They were taken by the Gestapo to aleja Szucha. Up till now all of my searches and those of the families of the rest of those taken have yielded no results. That is why we are addressing the office, which maybe has some information about those people, taken to the terrible aleja Szucha. Those taken from my family [were]: my husband, my father, my two brothers, and my cousin. Their names: Adam Niewiarowski, Ryszard Stroński, Jan Stroński, Jerzy Stroński, and Romuald Ledóchowski. Should you have no information, I propose to address the Special Tribunal in Nuremberg, and let them, in turn, ask Mr. Von dem Bach about what happened to the people taken to aleja Szucha during the Uprising, perhaps he will answer that he bears no responsibility because the orders came from above.
Kind Regards,
Halina Niewiarowska
