The residential buildings were mud huts; primitive hygiene.

Mostly Poles (families of officials). Average cultural level. Solidarity.
6. Life in the camp, prison:
Work from 6.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., in the forest and at a railroad track. Considering the quota the pay was minimal. Amount of food per person – 100 to 300 grams of rice per day. Great cooperation among Poles. No cultural life due to the lack of time, materials, etc.
7. Attitude of the authorities, the NKVD, towards Poles:
Propaganda, anti-Polish, and anti-religious meetings. Punishment for skipping work.
8. Medical assistance, hospitals, mortality:
No medical help was provided.
9. Was it possible to keep in touch with the home country and your family?
We exchanged letters with our families.

On 27 March 1942. I joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Service in Tehran on 17 May 1942.
