With reference to the appeal concerning supplementation of the Katyn List, I would like to inform that the said document is missing the surname of my father, that is Franciszek Hincman, who was incarcerated at the camp in Ostashkov in the years 1939–1940.
My father, Franciszek Hincman, born on 4 August 1900 in Bratian (Pomorski), was a Senior Constable of the State Police at the Municipal Police Station in Bielsko.
In February 1940 my grandfather, Franciszek Olszewski, received a postcard sent by my father from Ostashkov, and this informed us that it was in fact the second card which he had sent from the camp. Since he had received no reply to his first communication, addressed to Bielsko, which we most unfortunately did not receive, father had sent another to my grandfather’s address – attached please find a photocopy. This is the only communication received from my father.
In spite of numerous interventions with the Polish Red Cross, we received only two replies, both in the years 1954–1957, to the effect that there is no information about our father who went missing on the territory of the Soviet Union.
I thank you in advance for including my father’s surname in the list of victims reported missing in the Soviet Union.
