My memories of the past war with Germany
It was in 1943 in Chełm. As I was leaving school and walking through the town, I heard on the radio that on that day Poles were going to be shot by the Germans for cooperating with bandits. I went to the market square and saw three cars filled with prisoners. The Germans stood them by a tenement house and started to fire salvos at the unfortunate victims. Not a single cry was forced from the prisoners. After the execution, people started to run away like frightened deer being chased by a lion.
