My memory of the war

In the first days of the war, when the front approached, I was scared a lot. The Germans were taking our horses. A friend and I were hiding with the horses. A Soviet tank came to the Bug River on Saturday. We were very happy because the Germans would leave soon. The Germans were retreating from the Bug River, and we were sitting in the trench. There was a lot of fear; buildings in the village were on fire. Bullets were flying over our heads. Sunday morning was calm; we could hear gunfire here and there. There were Soviet troops in the village, and the Germans ran away.
