My wartime experiences
The front approached on Saturday, 21 July 1944. German cannons were set up behind our neighbor’s orchard. In the morning, cars were moving down the Radzyń road. The Russian army was stationed in Horodyszcze, and the Soviets fired their cannons from there. My brother and I were in the trench. A car with weapons came into our yard. At our place two pigs [sic!]. The road was mined. On Monday, there were no more Germans. Cars were burning in the forest.
