My most important wartime experiences
I will describe the execution of 30 people in Wisznice. It was in 1944. The Germans ordered municipalities to send one [person] from each household, threatening that they would shoot the entire family if nobody went. People came together in one group. When there were a few thousand people, the cars arrived and stopped in front of the group. People started moving back, thinking that [they] would get shot. Then, the Germans set up their machine guns, yelling at people to stand still. Then, when people calmed down, [the Germans] pulled 30 people out of their cars and started executing them. They put ten blindfolded people next to a wall. When everything was ready, the [Germans] shot them with their machine guns, and there was nothing but screaming and moaning. After executing 30 people the Germans said [illegible] and ordered people to go home. And people went home, sad and crying.
