What do the mass graves tell us?
Wherever you look or go, you will find common graves of our brothers who died for our homeland. Not far from [illegible] there is also a common grave of fallen partisans who died a heroic death, fighting the Germans for Poland’s freedom. They fought fiercely, preferring to die in battle rather than be taken prisoner and suffer German tortures. About a dozen of them perished at the time; they were buried at the edge of the forest. These graves gave encouragement and energy to other Poles who did not belong to any organizations. They hated the Germans, and more and more of them were killed by Poles.
