The most memorable moment from the occupation

One autumn day during the occupation, gendarmes came to Białogon for a manhunt. Some surrounded Białogon, while others went from house to house and took people away. They came to us as well. They asked about daddy. Daddy was in the yard. One gendarme went to the yard, called daddy and took him away. I was very scared because I thought daddy would never come back. Then cars came and took the arrestees to Kielce. The next day I went to Kielce with my mum to say goodbye to dad. It was near the train station. A lot of people came there to see their relatives. Suddenly, two planes flew over. There was a great commotion. People immediately dispersed. I will never forget that moment because I was very scared.
