My memories of German crimes
The war began on 1 September 1939. My uncle was in the Polish army. On 2 September, the Germans were already in Słowik. They launched an attack from there, but were repelled. Then they attacked us once again and managed to capture Kielce. My dad went to Radom at the time. On Sunday morning, the others came back, but without dad. We thought that he had been shot. The war was still raging. The Germans were bombing Kielce. There were a lot of corpses after a fierce battle. People from our village collected the bodies and buried them in the forest. During the occupation, the Germans conducted numerous round-ups. The captured people were deported to camps and for hard labor.
