My memories of German crimes

The war began on 1 September 1939. On Sunday evening, my family went to the nearby village of Masłów. My dad was fighting in the war and my uncle was on cart duty. We were at my uncle’s house. Cows were standing in the yard. On 3 September, German planes arrived and bombed the airfield in Masłów near Kielce. We were in the basement. One of our men was killed on Monday. German planes dropped various explosive games [?] for children and older people. Many houses burned down in Dąbrowa.

During the German occupation, an innocent man was killed. One day at dawn, the Germans took a lot of people for labor. A lot of Polish soldiers were killed. They were buried by the local people at the edge of the forest. One day, the Germans rounded up many Poles in the town. They placed them blindfolded against the wall of St. Adalbert’s Church and killed them. They ordered that they be buried in a pit by the wall. My uncle was killed in this war. The Germans tormented the Polish people. They murdered four people from my family in Masłów.
