What do the mass graves tell us?

The mass graves tell us about our brothers, who were united by the same fate – the fate of [eternal] torment and death. With their heads held high, they gave their young lives for Poland happily and selflessly, believing that their sacrifice would not be in vain.

Buried in the mass graves are the Poles who took up arms during the German occupation and died of wounds, hunger [and] cold. They did not surrender. They died in damp prisons and on the gallows; they were executed by firing squads. The mass graves tell us about our brothers and sisters in concentration camps, who had to choose between cooperation with the Germans and death. They chose death heroically and without hesitation. The mass graves tell us about our brothers who gave their lives for Poland on sea, land and air.

All that torment and suffering bears witness to the indomitable will and love for the homeland, as well as the belief that their blood will yield abundant harvest.
