Memories of German crimes

Our cruel enemies, the Germans, invaded Poland on 1 September 1939. The Germans are a nation capable of plunder and murder, so they robbed, destroyed, and burned Polish towns and villages.

In the first few days of the war, a resident of my village was shot. Every day I would hear about another atrocity. After a short time, I witnessed a German crime myself. My neighbor was murdered in a horrible way on the other side of the house where I live.

The Germans would also deport our men to their country. People swarmed the roads, carrying luggage on their backs, and following them were their crying wives and children. The German troops [illegible], forcing them to dig pits, at which they were shot and [in which they were] buried. I must also mention that our capital city, Warsaw, was terribly destroyed. Now the Germans repent of all those crimes against the Polish people and other nations of the world.
