My wartime experiences

In 1946 [sic!], the Germans declared war on Poland. Poles were unable to resist, which made the war easy for the Germans, and soon they captured all of Poland. Poles did not resist because the Germans attacked by surprise. They resisted in Warsaw, but the Germans started bombing the city and the Poles had to give it up. The Germans bombed many houses in Warsaw.

After a few years, when the Germans felt at home in Poland, they declared war on the Soviets, but the Soviets managed to drive them away. I saw the Germans set up a cannon behind the barn and fire at the Soviets.
